As a student, I used to regularly visit 'Prem Dham' and the school for the not-so-well-off. I used to teach them basic subjects of Hindi, English and Math. While pursuing my graduation at Allahabad University, I used to teach a fruit vendor's children, Anupa and Virendra, and teach them basic Hindi, English and Math. Here in Kanpur I fought for Durga, a daily wage labourer's daughter, to waive off her tuition fees at school under Right to Education. The school authorities began charging her a nominal amount henceforth, which was still a lot for her parents. I teach Durga and help her adjust to her school curriculum. More importantly, I counsel her parents to continue her education and stop loading her with household chores everyday so she can dedicate some time to studies.
